The Formation of An American Scholarship Opportunity for Russian

and Other Eastern European Students

 

PURPOSE OF THIS COLLABORATION

International Council, Inc. and the Weise Foundation are members of The Russian Ethics Center, a UK-based organization, devoted to increasing awareness of and improving business ethics in The Russian Federation.  It is the belief of the Center that with improved business ethics in Russia:

  • Western foreign investors will meet with less resistance and have fewer problems there

  • Their experience will be improved

  • Their success rate will be increased

  • More foreign investors will be attracted

  • Overall, business relations between Russia and the West will be improved

 

PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

Ultimately, to train information technology students in US ethics principals so that when they return to their jobs in Russia, they will have a greater sense of western Investors' expectations in these regards and work toward improvement in business ethics in Russia via their IT communications specialties.  ICES will look to its scholarship students first to fill important jobs in its education and software projects currently under way in Russia.

 

PROFILE OF A SUCCESSFUL SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATE

It is expected that successful scholarship candidates will have completed several years of college level computer science work at an accredited Russian university, will have an interest in general business, some English language proficiency and an interest in business ethics and its proliferation and improvement through increased information technology (IT) communications.
